Celebrating 1 family, 2 grandmothers, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 4 cultures

What We Do

We love to celebrate the beauty of you, your family and your cultural heritage for generations to enjoy

We specialise in helping families create timeless 'Cultural Legacy' portraits.  These are visual snap shots recording your cultural family tree, that are transformed into cherished heirlooms for future generations to enjoy and treasure.

We love to celebrate all cultures and for those from the Pacific nations of Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Hawai’i, Niue, the Cook Islands, Fiji, or Aotearoa (NZ), we can provide traditional cultural outfits for you and your family.

We invite you to bring and wear the traditional outfits of your culture, or the attire of your choice.  The choice is entirely yours!  Just keep in mind that whatever you decide to wear, will be captured in a portrait and displayed on your wall for years to come.

We take great pride in tailoring each photography session to capture the unique personality and characteristics of our clients, ensuring every session is truly one-of-a-kind.

How It Works

There Are 5 Simple Steps To Having Your Portrait Taken

1. Contact Us

2. The Consultation

3.  Photo Session

4.  Photo Reveal

5.  Enjoy Your Portraits

1.  CONTACT US

Contact us to arrange a free no-obligation face-to-face consultation.  The consultation can take place via a video call, or you can visit our studio.

2.  THE CONSULTATION

We will discuss:

  • who will be photographed, your preferences and desired results

  • what culture will be celebrated (outfits provided for selected cultures)

  • the various products and prices

  • date and time for the photoshoot

  • how to prepare for the photoshoot

When you are happy to proceed, the photoshoot will be booked and confirmed once the session fee of $250 has been paid.

(NB: The session fee includes a photo session of up to 2 hours, in one cultural change, for up to 6 people; as well as a viewing session of the edited photos.  The session fee is non-refundable and alternative photoshoot times can be arranged by mutual agreement).

3.  THE PHOTO SESSION

All photo sessions are taken in our studio with studio lighting and no chance of rain!  This ensures a secure and guaranteed appointment for you and your family.   We will walk you through the process then:

  • help you change into the selected cultural outfits

  • guide you through different poses

  • take various photos of groups, couples or individuals

  • book a date/time for the photo reveal

4.  PHOTO REVEAL & ORDER

You come back to the studio where we will reveal your images and you:

  • decide which images you love and want to take home

  • choose which type of art work option - wall framed, box set or mounted (packages and finance options are available)

  • organise pick up date/time or delivery

5.  ENJOY YOUR PRECIOUS HEIRLOOMS

Once your chosen art works are ready, you can either collect them from our studio, or we can arrange for them to be delivered directly to your home

NB:  The session fee includes a photo session of up to 2 hours, in one cultural change per person

A family portrait session should be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Our team will work to create a comfortable atmosphere while capturing beautiful, timeless images that you will treasure for years to come.

Family portrait sessions can range from one to several hours, so its important to allocate sufficient time for the session.  This ensures that everyone has time to relax and there’s ample time to capture all of the desired shots

SHARING THE EXPERIENCE

TRADITIONAL OUTFITS AVAILABLE

For clients from the Pacific and Aotearoa, we are extremely privileged to have partnered with Tuiga Samoa and have access to traditional outfits made from cultural taonga/measina (treasures). These include:

·       hand made contemporary Tuiga Samoa (ceremonial crown),

·       traditional Ie Tonga (fine mats) woven from pandanus leaves,

·       piupiu and kahu kura made from korari (flax) and kura (feathers) and

·       siapo/ngatu/masi (tapa cloth) made from the bark of the mulberry tree

These incredible cultural measina have been meticulously crafted by skilled artisans, with knowledge passed down through generations. We take great pride in celebrating these artisans, their ancestors, and their craftsmanship by dressing current generations in stunning outfits from their homeland.  We believe that a portrait can foster connection and create a sense of belonging for both present and future generations. Our aim is to capture the beauty of multiple generations within your family, including great-grandparents and grandparents, while there is an opportunity to do so. We customise each photography session to reflect the unique personality and traits of our clients, ensuring every photo session is truly one-of-a-kind.
